Standard 1 Artifacts
The artifacts for this standard were chosen because they demonstrate that I possess the knowledge necessary to create, use, assess, and manage theoretical and practical applications of educational technologies and processes.

S.1.1. Creating
This job aid demonstrates my ability to create instructional materials and learning environments using a variety of systems and approaches.
This assignment was completed for my Interactive Media course, and we were told to create a job aid for a group of learners using Adobe photoshop. I believe that having a growth mindset is a critical life skill, and chose to create this job aid for elementary schoolers to remind them of what having a growth mindset looks like.
This project demonstrates my competency at identifying instructional media options that address training needs, and designing instructional materials that are appropriate to the ability level of the learners.

S.1.2. Using
I created this book suggestion generator for my Web Programming course using Adobe Photoshop to manipulate the graphics, and Microsoft Visual Studio Code to program the website using HTML 5 and CSS. It demonstrates my competence as selecting and using educational technologies and processes.
The assignment was created to be an informative website for elementary school students. I chose to create a book suggestion generator that asks the student a few questions about their interests. The answers were then combined to generate a book recommendation from a book list created by the Florida Department of Education for third to fifth grade readers. Their answers are sorted into one of four categories. Once they get their book suggestion, the student can navigate to the appropriate tab and view the books that correspond with that genre.
We know that students learn best when the subject matter aligns with their interests, and my hope is that my book suggestion generator will match students with books that closely align with their personalities to make reading more intriguing for them.
During the creation of this project I demonstrated my ability to develop media materials that are linked to and within the hardware/software constraints, selecting and constructing appropriate interactions and user control techniques, and generating specifications for revisions based on feedback collected during evaluation.

S.1.4. Managing
This artifact is a video production plan created for my Interactive Media course, and demonstrates my ability to effectively manage processes, physical infrastructures, and financial resources to achieve predetermined goals by creating a video production plan.
The purpose of this assignment was to create digitized audio and video products for an approximately five minute long video. I used a combination of Adobe Photoshop and Camtasia for production.
The purpose of this video is to teach students how to write a five-paragraph essay by using the visual of a hamburger to represent different parts of an essay. I found and imported the still images used for this project and then narrated the lesson using the audio record function in Camtasia.
This project meets the competencies of developing a project management plan, analyzing the characteristics of a job, task, or body of knowledge, assessing frequency, criticality, difficulty, and complexity of knowledge and skills contained in curricula to accommodate target audience learning styles, and sequencing the objectives to reflect the curriculum design.
